About The Artist

My name is Kristine, and I was born and raised in Alta, in the far north of Norway. I grew up spending time at our family cabins, by fishing lakes and in the mountains. Summers meant long days under the midnight sun, picking cloudberries and being outdoors. Winters brought skis, snow-filled driveways, the sound of snow beneath your feet and northern lights moving across the sky.

I have always been creative and have explored many different ways of making things over the years. Still, I seem to return again and again to the same source of inspiration: Northern Norway and the life we live here. Living above the Arctic Circle has shaped the way I see the world. I enjoy watching the changing seasons, the diversity of light and colour, and the small details that make life in Northern Norway so special.

My work is rooted in a deep affection for this place – its long fjords, snowy mountains, wild flowers and crisp air. Through what I create, I hope to capture the essence of what makes me proud to call Northern Norway my home.
